🐾The Purina Pro Plan Shredded Blend Chicken & Rice Small Breed Dog Food has kibble pieces that are made to fit the needs of small breed dogs. The manufacturer's description says the kibble is small, which helps these dogs chew and digest it more easily. From our research, it turns out people really appreciate the size since it fits their small pets' mouths just right.
Now, while we're on the topic of kibble size, it's good to know that if you're thinking about switching to this dog food, you should transition slowly to avoid upsetting your dog's stomach. The manufacturer recommends easing into it over a week or so. Based on our data, folks who did this transition slowly reported fewer tummy troubles in their dogs.
There’s also more to this food than just the kibble size. The manufacturer says it includes real chicken as the main ingredient, offering quality protein to help keep those small, active dog muscles in shape. It also claims to have probiotics for digestive and immune support, plus omega-6 for healthy skin and coats.
Honestly, there's quite a bit packed into this dog food, which our research seems to agree keeps a lot of pet owners—and their dogs—happy.
However, heads-up: some dog owners have mentioned that the mix of shredded chicken bits varies from bag to bag. This might be a downer if your dog really loves those little pieces.
In the end, this dog food seems to be a favorite for many people with small dogs, mainly because of the kibble size and its other benefits. That said, it's always good to start off gently when making any dog food change.
