The Songbird Ocarina of Time Replica is a solid choice for anyone who loves Legend of Zelda and wants to play a bit of music from the game.
It's made to look a lot like the ocarina in the game, with seven holes and tuned to the key of C. The manufacturer says it's pretty close to the in-game version, though there are a couple of tweaks to help make it easier to play—like two decorative holes that don't affect the sound.
A nice touch is that it comes with a tutorial guide and a songbook featuring tunes like Zelda’s Lullaby, Kokiri Forest, and the Song of Time. These extras are really handy if you're just starting out or want to revisit some of the game's music.
From what we've found, the ocarina is known for producing clear, high notes, but it might take a little practice to get the pitch just right, as you'll need to adjust your breath pressure. It's designed with the English 6-hole pendant system, so if you've used similar ocarinas before, it should be familiar.
One thing to keep in mind is that you might need some time to get used to its size. Our research suggests that the large thumb holes and indented holes demand precise finger placement, which might not be super intuitive right off the bat.
It's made of plastic, which works well for cosplay or display, but some feel it doesn't quite cut it as a serious musical instrument. Still, the mix of nostalgia and fair pricing makes it a popular choice among fans.
So, if you're into Zelda and want to try your hand at a bit of music, the Songbird Ocarina of Time Replica can be a fun piece to have. It might not replace professional instruments, but for a fan looking to pay homage to the game, it's a great addition to your collection.
