The Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff seems pretty solid at detecting water leaks. From what we found, it's designed to work with systems like Alarm.com, Ring, Google Assistant, and NICE.
So if you've got any of those setups, you're in luck. You can control it and get alerts through voice commands or the platforms you already use, which is handy.
One thing that's really nice about it is the ability to receive notifications and manage the water shutoff remotely. Imagine being away on vacation and still having the peace of mind that you can tackle leaks as they happen.
If it picks up on a serious leak, it can even shut off the water automatically to prevent damage, which is a game-changer for folks who have multiple homes or travel a lot.
But heads up, installing it isn't a walk in the park. It needs to connect to your main water line, and from what we've gathered, some folks have had a bit of a struggle with the Wi-Fi setup.
So make sure you've got a strong Wi-Fi connection where it's going to be.
Another thing to note is that while it uses predefined settings to figure out when there's a leak, it doesn’t let you set your own thresholds. This means you might get the occasional false alarm, especially with stuff like long showers or big lawn watering sessions.
But you can handle those through the app, and the real-time alerts are pretty helpful.
Overall, if you're looking for a reliable way to keep an eye on water leaks and manage things from a distance, the Flo by Moen Smart Water Shutoff looks like a solid pick.
Just be prepared for some hiccups during installation and the occasional false alert. Still, it sounds like a good backup plan to have against water damage.
