Ask Agent About This Product

No, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 does not support the S Pen. This represents a significant departure from the Z Fold 3 through Z Fold 6, all of which offered stylus compatibility.

Why Samsung Removed S Pen Support

Samsung prioritized portability over stylus functionality. The Z Fold 7 measures just 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded—making it dramatically thinner than any previous Galaxy Fold. To achieve this slim profile, Samsung removed the digitizer layer from the inner display.

Samsung's official statement: "While the S Pen remains a valuable part of the Galaxy line up, our priority with this latest iteration was delivering the lightest and thinnest Galaxy Z series experience yet."

The Technical Reality

The S Pen uses electromagnetic resonance (EMR) technology—the same tech found in Wacom drawing tablets. Most of the system lives inside the screen, not the pen itself. Since the Z Fold 7's display lacks this digitizer hardware, no stylus will function on this device.

Warning: Avoid S Pen Scams

Be cautious of products advertising S Pen compatibility for the Z Fold 7. These are fraudulent. The phone's hardware cannot support stylus input, and no accessory can change this fundamental limitation.

Alternatives for S Pen Users

If stylus functionality is essential:

• Galaxy Z Fold 6: Most recent Fold with S Pen support
• Galaxy S25 Ultra: Samsung's flagship with built-in S Pen slot

What You Gain Instead

The S Pen removal enabled significant improvements:

• 24 grams lighter than Z Fold 6 (215g vs 239g)
• 3.2mm thinner when folded (8.9mm vs 12.1mm)
• Improved durability with thicker ultra-thin glass
• Better pocket carry and one-handed comfort

For users who rarely used the S Pen, this trade-off delivers a substantially improved everyday experience.
