If you're thinking about using the Good Directions 401AL Adjustable Aluminum Weathervane Roof Mount with a 3/4 inch pole, there are a couple of things you might want to know. The manufacturer describes it as suitable for poles up to 3/4 inch. However, our research indicates that some folks have noticed it's a bit snug.
It turns out that a few people had to switch to a 1/2 inch pole because the mount was too tight for the 3/4 inch one. For example, Stephen P. Hawrysh shared that he encountered this issue and decided on a 1/2 inch pole instead. So, if you're working on a project where exact sizing is important, it might be good to have a backup plan or be ready for some adjustments.
On the upside, people really like the mount's sturdy build. It's said to be durable and rust-resistant, which is nice for something that’ll face the elements. John B. and others seem to appreciate this quality aspect.
As far as installation goes, our research shows that some, like Rudy, found it pretty straightforward. Still, remember that fit can vary, depending on the type of roof you have. You might need to tweak things or use additional mounts, especially with materials like shingles or metal.
In short, the roof mount is solid and well-liked for its durability, but double-check that fit ahead of time. Being prepared will help you avoid any hiccups and make the setup as smooth as possible.
Hope this helps!
