📷No physical webcam shutter on this one. Dell put a great 8MP camera up there (finally better than 1080p!), but no sliding cover to block it.

For privacy, you've got software options:

• Disable the webcam in Windows Settings
• Turn it off in Device Manager
• Disable Windows Hello facial recognition if you want

Thinking about a stick-on cover? Be careful. The XPS 14 has incredibly tight tolerances between the screen and keyboard when closed. A chunky webcam cover might:

• Prevent the laptop from closing fully
• Leave pressure marks on the screen
• Potentially crack the display over time

If you go this route, get an ultra-thin cover specifically marketed for slim laptops. The generic thick ones are risky.

Why doesn't Dell include one? Same reason Apple doesn't on the MacBook Pro. Premium laptop designers prioritize thin bezels and clean aesthetics over physical privacy switches. Lenovo does include webcam shutters on ThinkPads, so it's definitely possible. Just not something Dell chose for the XPS line.

Honestly, the software disable works fine for most people. The camera physically cannot record when Windows disables it.
