Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil is great if you're looking to moisturize and boost your tan, thanks to ingredients like coconut oil and cocoa butter.
But, heads up—it doesn't have any SPF protection. The manufacturer's description says it's meant to enhance tanning by making your skin feel soft and look radiant, without shielding you from UV rays. Just so you know, it doesn't contain oxybenzone, which is a common sunscreen ingredient.
Our research shows that many folks love how it helps them get a rich, golden tan.
But, a lot of them also mention the lack of SPF as a downside. It's important to be careful, especially if you have fair skin since there's a higher risk of getting sunburned without SPF. Some funny stories, like a user mentioning a friend's surprise sunburn after using it, underline why you should use extra sun protection.
To make the most of this tanning oil, consider using it along with a sunscreen that suits your skin type. This way, you can enjoy a soft, glowing tan without putting your skin at risk. Applying sunscreen beforehand will help protect against harmful UV rays while still soaking in the benefits of the tanning oil.
If you're thinking about keeping your skin smooth and hydrated after being in the sun, Hawaiian Tropic has other products like the Lime Coolada After Sun Lotion or Weightless Hydration After Sun Lotion.
These can help soothe and rehydrate your skin. Just remember, enjoying the sun safely is key—so definitely don't skip on the sunscreen!
