If you're thinking about using Wallaby 500cc Oxygen Absorbers for long-term food storage, they could be a good option. They're made for use with Mylar bags and other airtight containers by removing oxygen to help keep food fresh.
According to the manufacturer's product description, they're designed to prolong the shelf life of foods like spices, grains, beans, pasta, and both dehydrated and freeze-dried items.
They're safe to use, too. The manufacturer mentions that they use FDA food-grade and BPA-free materials, making them suitable for both short and long-term storage periods. According to our research, these absorbers effectively reduce oxygen levels, but keep in mind you might not notice a big visual change, like the bag shrinking, because they only remove the oxygen part of the air.
Based on what we've gathered, a lot of folks say these absorbers keep their food fresh for long stretches, even up to a year. But it isn't all perfect feedback. Some people have experienced issues like the absorbers not working properly or not feeling firm when they should, which is usually a sign they're activated.
It seems there's some variability in performance, possibly due to manufacturing or packaging issues. Despite this, many appreciate the convenience of the packaging, which groups the absorbers in packs of ten to maintain freshness until you're ready to use one.
So, while there's good feedback for the Wallaby 500cc Oxygen Absorbers, just be aware of the mixed reviews to make a well-informed decision.
