Yep, the McGard 64002 Chrome Cone Seat Style Lug Nuts can work with aluminum wheels as long as they have a 60-degree tapered cone seat. The manufacturer mentions they're versatile for different wheel types, including steel and aluminum.
But, it's super important to double-check that these lug nuts are the right fit for your car, since they don't work with every vehicle out there.
Just to be sure, you'll want to compare the key specs of these lug nuts with yours. They have a thread size of M12 x 1.5, a hex size of 13/16 inches, and an overall length of 1.5 inches. The manufacturer highlights how crucial it is to match these specs with your own to avoid any headaches during installation.
From what we gathered, people have mixed feelings about these lug nuts. Quite a few say they're tough and make great replacements for the OEM ones.
On the flip side, there have been mentions of rust issues showing up either right away or pretty soon after putting them on. Even with their fancy multi-layer plating that includes nickel and microporous chrome, rusting might still pop up under certain conditions, like harsh winters or if the product isn't legit.
To dodge getting a fake, you should give the lug nuts a good look over. Check for the McGard brand stamped into each nut – it's a quick way to confirm they're real.
Buying from well-known sellers also increases your chances of ending up with authentic parts. This little bit of homework can make sure your lug nuts perform well and stick around on your aluminum wheels for the long haul.
