Choosing the right cooking oil for your GreenPan Swift cookware really helps keep that nonstick surface in good shape. Plus, since it's got a ceramic nonstick coating free from nasty chemicals like PFAS, it's a great choice for conscious cooking.
From what we've found, you can use a range of oils with your GreenPan Swift, but here are some handy tips:
-
Low to Medium-Smoke Point Oils: While any oil will technically do, sticking to oils with lower to medium smoke points, like olive oil or coconut oil, works well for moderate heat cooking. They're great for sautéing or light frying at the temperatures you should stick to with nonstick surfaces.
-
High-Smoke Point Oils: Planning to cook at higher temperatures? Then grapeseed oil or avocado oil, which can handle higher heat, are good choices. They won't degrade as quickly and help protect the nonstick coating.
-
Butter and Ghee: These are good for higher heat cooking now and then, thanks to their high smoke point and added flavor.
-
Avoid Aerosol Cooking Sprays: It's a smart move to steer clear of these. They can leave residues that mess up the nonstick surface and are a pain to clean off.
Using the right oils not only keeps your nonstick feature efficient but also prevents build-up and sticking.
Remember, though, that while your GreenPan Swift cookware works great on gas and electric stoves, it doesn't go with induction ones. So if you’re on gas or electric, any of the mentioned oils should work well.
Happy cooking with your GreenPan Swift—it’s a solid, eco-friendly choice!
