If you're looking to cut down on noise complaints from neighbors, the Auralex SubDude-II could be worth considering, but keep a few things in mind. This platform is designed to improve subwoofer performance by separating it from the floor, which should help reduce vibrations and boost sound quality. The manufacturer mentions it reduces resonance, leading to a clearer bass.
The platform is made with a firm layer covered in velour and sits on Auralex's special Platfoam, aiming to reduce vibrations and improve bass clarity. According to our research, the SubDude-II does a good job of absorbing vibrations that can mess with bass in home theaters or studios.
However, when it comes to cutting down on noise complaints, it's a bit of a mixed bag. Some folks noticed a big improvement in sound clarity and fewer complaints, like in a high-rise condo setting. On the other hand, some found that while it makes a big difference in the same room, it doesn't completely stop sound from traveling to neighbors.
So, while the SubDude-II can definitely help improve the sound in your space, if sound traveling through walls or floors is the main issue, you'll probably need additional soundproofing measures along with it.
It's mostly about setting the right expectations—it's great for better in-room sound but might not entirely solve neighbor complaints on its own.
