The Roborock Saros 10R dock is not small. It measures about 15 x 19 x 19 inches (381 x 475 x 488mm). That's a chunk of space, but that's what you get with a dock that does everything: auto-emptying, mop washing, hot air drying, water tanks. All that stuff takes up room.

How Much Space You Actually Need

The dock itself is one thing, but you also need clearance around it:

• In front: About 20 inches for the robot to approach and dock
• On the sides: About 20 inches each side
• Behind: Against a wall, level floor

So you're looking at roughly a 4x4 foot area of floor space dedicated to this thing.

Where People Actually Put It

The most popular spots:

• Corner of a room - Gets it out of the way
• Inside a closet - Leave the door open or remove it entirely
• Laundry room - Especially if you get the plumbing-connected version
• Mudroom - Out of sight, out of mind

Where Not to Put It

Avoid these spots:

• Direct sunlight (confuses the sensors)
• Next to a heater or AC vent
• On carpet (put it on hard floor)

The Ugly Truth

Let's be real: the dock looks like a robot vacuum dock. It's not going to win any design awards. If you care about aesthetics, plan to put it somewhere out of sight, or get creative with a cabinet or furniture surround.

If You Get the Plumbing Version

The auto-fill/auto-drain version needs access to water supply and a drain. That usually means laundry room or near a bathroom/kitchen. Factor in plumber costs if you're not handy.
