# TLDR Review: Vornado EV100 Humidifier *Published: 2025-02-11 | Updated: 2025-01-01 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/reviews-tldr/vornado-ev100-humidifier* --- ## Verdict While the Vornado EV100 has some favorable features like effective low-setting humidification and easy maintenance, its noisiness and design flaws significantly detract from its usability. Potential buyers should consider alternative models, such as the EVDC300, which offers better value with features like an auto shut-off and more efficient humidification. **Top pro:** Provides effective humidification when operating on a low setting. **Top con:** Excessively noisy, producing fan noise similar to a box fan on low, which is disruptive for use in quiet environments such as bedrooms. ## Product: Vornado EV100 Humidifier **Brand:** Vornado [Compare prices and price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/vornado-ev100-humidifier) ## Pros - Provides effective humidification when operating on a low setting. - Features a simple yet attractive design and is easy to clean. - Large 1-gallon tank is convenient for extended use without frequent refilling. - Controls automatically dim after selection, making them user-friendly. ## Cons - Excessively noisy, producing fan noise similar to a box fan on low, which is disruptive for use in quiet environments such as bedrooms. - Experiences harmonic vibration on the high setting, which can be disruptive. - Initial operation issues: the fan may not work right out of the box and requires tapping. - Struggles to maintain humidity levels, especially in larger rooms over time. - Wick design is flawed, causing it to flop and not adequately filter air. - Lacks an auto shut-off feature, unlike other models like the EVDC300. - Consumes water faster and is less effective at humidifying than advertised. ## Pros vs Cons at a Glance | Pros | Cons | |------|------| | Provides effective humidification when operating on a low setting. | Excessively noisy, producing fan noise similar to a box fan on low, which is disruptive for use in quiet environments such as bedrooms. | | Features a simple yet attractive design and is easy to clean. | Experiences harmonic vibration on the high setting, which can be disruptive. | | Large 1-gallon tank is convenient for extended use without frequent refilling. | Initial operation issues: the fan may not work right out of the box and requires tapping. | | Controls automatically dim after selection, making them user-friendly. | Struggles to maintain humidity levels, especially in larger rooms over time. | | | Wick design is flawed, causing it to flop and not adequately filter air. | | | Lacks an auto shut-off feature, unlike other models like the EVDC300. | | | Consumes water faster and is less effective at humidifying than advertised. | ## Last Seen Prices *Each price is the last one ShopSavvy observed, between 2025-01-01 and 2026-10-13;
