## Verdict

If you're an Elle Kennedy fan or love character-driven contemporary romance with real depth, *The Chase* is absolutely worth your time. The slow-burn dynamic between Summer and Fitz is genuinely compelling, and Kennedy's knack for balancing laugh-out-loud humor with meaningful themes makes this a page-turner that tackles some important issues along the way. Just know that while it's excellent entertainment, it's a slightly lighter experience compared to some of her other works—but that's really just a minor caveat for what is ultimately a solid, engaging romance.

**Top pro:** Slow-burn romance with genuine chemistry and witty banter between contrasting protagonists (a reserved hockey player-turned-gamer-artist and an outgoing social butterfly)
**Top con:** The ending feels somewhat abrupt and would've benefited from an epilogue to flesh out the conclusion
