# TLDR Review: Sony 85 Inch X93L TV *Published: 2024-11-14 | Updated: 2024-12-22 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/reviews-tldr/sony-85-inch-x93l-tv* --- ## Verdict The Sony 85 Inch Mini LED 4K Ultra HD TV X93L Series does a fantastic job at delivering brilliant brightness, vibrant colors, and exceptional gaming performance. Though it may fall short in sharper image resolution compared to OLED alternatives from LG and Sharp, it remains a strong contender for those who prioritize brightness and smart features. Consider this TV if you're keen on build quality and a solid overall experience, but an OLED might be preferable for the ultimate picture sharpness. **Top pro:** Extremely bright display with excellent contrast, offering vibrant colors and minimal risk of burn-in compared to OLEDs. **Top con:** Picture quality may not be as crisp and sharp as some OLED models, despite adjustments. ## Product: Sony 85 Inch X93L TV **Brand:** Sony [Compare prices and price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/sony-85-inch-x93l-tv) ## Pros - Extremely bright display with excellent contrast, offering vibrant colors and minimal risk of burn-in compared to OLEDs. - Comprehensive smart TV features, including 4 HDMI ports, USB recording, and popular streaming apps. - Adjustable stand and great sound quality, although an external audio setup is recommended for an enhanced experience. - Exceptional picture quality is highlighted by vibrant colors right out of the box and effective upscaling. - Ideal for gaming with its superb brightness and no noticeable motion blur issues. - Minimal blooming with solid performance in dark scenes. - Easy-to-navigate Google TV interface with ample storage and expansion options. ## Cons - Picture quality may not be as crisp and sharp as some OLED models, despite adjustments. - Frustrating user experience with tiny remote controls and poor documentation. - The Google TV interface can be cumbersome due to ads and limited customization. - The anti-reflective coating might produce unwanted rainbow glare in pointed lighting conditions. - Low number of dimming zones causing occasional blooming, particularly in bright scenes. ## Pros vs Cons at a Glance | Pros | Cons | |------|------| | Extremely bright display with excellent contrast, offering vibrant colors and minimal risk of burn-in compared to OLEDs. | Picture quality may not be as crisp and sharp as some OLED models, despite adjustments. | | Comprehensive smart TV features, including 4 HDMI ports, USB recording, and popular streaming apps. | Frustrating user experience with tiny remote controls and poor documentation. | | Adjustable stand and great sound quality, although an external audio setup is recommended for an enhanced experience. | The Google TV interface can be cumbersome due to ads and limited customization. | | Exceptional picture quality is highlighted by vibrant colors right out of the box and effective upscaling. | The anti-reflective coating might produce unwanted rainbow glare in pointed lighting conditions. | | Ideal for gaming with its superb brightness and no noticeable motion blur issues. | Low number of dimming zones causing occasional blooming, particularly in bright scenes. | | Minimal blooming with solid performance in dark scenes. | | | Easy-to-navigate Google TV interface with ample storage and expansion options. | | ## Last Seen Prices *Each price is the last one ShopSavvy observed, between 2024-09-07 and 2025-04-24; it may have changed since.* | Retailer | Price | Availability | Last seen | |----------|-------|-------------|-----------| | [Jetson's Appliance](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/MwdU014lXr2Mdr4OpRDa/offers/36845761-a320-6829-e3cd-f4682c532372?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $2599.99 | In Stock | 2025-04-24 (may have changed) | | [B&H Photo-Video-Audio](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/MwdU014lXr2Mdr4OpRDa/offers/80b6d1c7-260a-2305-dc07-36ff391df403?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3199.00 | In Stock | 2025-04-24 (may have changed) | | [Arsenal PC](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/MwdU014lXr2Mdr4OpRDa/offers/9e12bbb6-f26e-e59d-cb32-fcc1c28c4413?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3199.99 | In Stock | 2025-04-24 (may have changed) | | [Abe's of Maine](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/MwdU014lXr2Mdr4OpRDa/offers/d315d2ed-91f0-d31d-570e-4c03c719694f?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3798.00 | In Stock | 2025-04-24 (may have changed) | | [Walts TV](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/MwdU014lXr2Mdr4OpRDa/offers/4715505d-a503-324e-e919-521ef0bc8ca5?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3998.00 | In Stock | 2025-04-24 (may have changed) | | [Best Buy](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/MwdU014lXr2Mdr4OpRDa/offers/9f1f2e96-c1a1-6db7-b8d7-6b8ac0bb1749?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3999.99 | In Stock | 2024-09-07 (may have changed) | [See every retailer and the full price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/sony-85-inch-x93l-tv) --- *About this review: it summarizes the professional reviews and customer ratings ShopSavvy collected for this product, alongside prices from ShopSavvy's price data (each price shows when it was last seen).* *Machine-readable access: append `.md` to any ShopSavvy URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`, to get this page as Markdown.
