## Verdict

If you want a discreet, reliable USB-C flash drive that fits snugly in tight spots like cars and slim laptops while offering solid storage capacity and decent speed, the SANDISK 256GB Extreme Fit is a smart pick. Its ultra-compact form factor shines in situations where space is at a premium but doesn’t come without trade-offs—namely, it can block neighboring ports and isn’t the fastest drive on the block. For users needing multiple accessible USB-C ports at once or blazing-fast transfer speeds, looking into alternatives might be wise. Otherwise, this drive offers excellent plug-and-stay convenience and value for general storage needs.

**Top pro:** Ultra-compact, low-profile design fits perfectly in tight USB-C ports, such as behind car manual shifters or laptop sides, minimizing risk of damage or obstruction.
**Top con:** Design is somewhat bulky or wide on the USB-C connector end, which can block adjacent USB-C ports, limiting use of multiple ports simultaneously on laptops or devices with closely spaced connectors.

## Pros
- Ultra-compact, low-profile design fits perfectly in tight USB-C ports, such as behind car manual shifters or laptop sides, minimizing risk of damage or obstruction.
- Provides a generous 256GB of storage, enough for extensive media libraries (around 3,000 songs), making it ideal for music playback offline in cars or on-the-go.
- Compatible with a wide range of modern USB-C devices, including recent models like the 2025 Volkswagen Jetta GLI and M2 MacBook Air.
- Allows users to keep it plugged in permanently, thanks to its slim size and plug-and-stay convenience.
- Offers decent read speeds up to 400MB/s and write speeds around 75MB/s, which meets expectations for its price range.
- Priced reasonably, delivering good value for everyday file storage and transfers.
- Provides secure, reliable data storage in a versatile flash drive designed for various usage scenarios—from laptops to phones and cars.

## Cons
- Design is somewhat bulky or wide on the USB-C connector end, which can block adjacent USB-C ports, limiting use of multiple ports simultaneously on laptops or devices with closely spaced connectors.
- Performance, while acceptable, is not top-tier and may feel slower compared to premium USB drives; some users notice it gets warm during extended use.
- Comes pre-formatted as FAT32, limiting compatibility with files larger than 4GB; reformatting to exFAT reduces usable capacity slightly (~232GB usable from 256GB advertised).
- Best suited for users who do not need access to both USB-C ports simultaneously due to its size and port-blocking issue.
