Its vibrant colors and engaging texture make it a hit with kids, and the value for money is impressive. However, it's essential to be mindful of the wheat content for allergy-prone children and ensure that pets do not ingest it. Perfect for rainy days, gifts, or just a creative afternoon, this Play-Doh set remains a beloved staple for playtime and family fun. **Top pro:** Fantastic for developing fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination in children. **Top con:** Dries quickly, necessitating prompt cleanup to avoid messes. ## Product: Play-Doh 4-Pack Wild Colors **Brand:** Hasbro [Compare prices and price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/play-doh-4-pack-wild-colors) ## Pros - Fantastic for developing fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination in children. - Offers stress relief and positive play experiences for kids of all ages, including those with autism. - Vibrant, appealing colors that engage children and enhance creativity. - Reusable, though it eventually becomes non-reusable over time. - Non-toxic and free of peanuts or milk products, though contains wheat. - Excellent value for the price, especially compared to local department store offerings. - Ideal size and color variety for educational projects and creative play. - Encourages family involvement and is enjoyed by both kids and adults. - Perfect for gifting, particularly during the holidays or as part of a themed gift bag. - Molds easily with a texture that is neither too wet nor too dry, ensuring a hassle-free play experience. ## Cons - Dries quickly, necessitating prompt cleanup to avoid messes. - Although non-toxic, it should not be ingested, and contains wheat, which may affect those with allergies. - Can be harmful to pets if ingested due to its high salt content. - As it was originally a wallpaper cleaner, its ingredients may not appeal to those looking for natural play compounds. ## Pros vs Cons at a Glance | Pros | Cons | |------|------| | Fantastic for developing fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination in children. | Dries quickly, necessitating prompt cleanup to avoid messes. | | Offers stress relief and positive play experiences for kids of all ages, including those with autism. | Although non-toxic, it should not be ingested, and contains wheat, which may affect those with allergies. | | Vibrant, appealing colors that engage children and enhance creativity. | Can be harmful to pets if ingested due to its high salt content. | | Reusable, though it eventually becomes non-reusable over time. | As it was originally a wallpaper cleaner, its ingredients may not appeal to those looking for natural play compounds. | | Non-toxic and free of peanuts or milk products, though contains wheat. | | | Excellent value for the price, especially compared to local department store offerings. | | | Ideal size and color variety for educational projects and creative play. | | | Encourages family involvement and is enjoyed by both kids and adults. | | | Perfect for gifting, particularly during the holidays or as part of a themed gift bag. | | | Molds easily with a texture that is neither too wet nor too dry, ensuring a hassle-free play experience. | | ## Last Seen Prices *Each price is the last one ShopSavvy observed, between 2024-10-29 and 2025-06-02; it may have changed since.* | Retailer | Price | Availability | Last seen | |----------|-------|-------------|-----------| | [Target](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/1kdAGeAegLqdYBjXqJh4/offers/b2da3293-eeea-306e-aa63-849354350cb5?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $2.96 | In Stock | 2025-06-02 (may have changed) | | [Walmart](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/1kdAGeAegLqdYBjXqJh4/offers/c6a3ef3e-8d1a-f186-1a9f-5237f3451e88?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3.47 | In Stock | 2025-06-02 (may have changed) | | [Entertainment Earth](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/1kdAGeAegLqdYBjXqJh4/offers/fODMjTJmb1ZXT6ir5Zfa?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3.99 | In Stock | 2025-06-02 (may have changed) | | [Whistle Stop Hobby & Toy](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/1kdAGeAegLqdYBjXqJh4/offers/edbb5dd2-3a59-c2f7-6462-2295dbd9e4e9?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $3.99 | In Stock | 2025-06-02 (may have changed) | | [Instacart](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/1kdAGeAegLqdYBjXqJh4/offers/38308Xjzi1zxGCjJBmif?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $7.49 | In Stock | 2024-10-29 (may have changed) | | [ToyWiz.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/1kdAGeAegLqdYBjXqJh4/offers/x4UqqZKgvjSYQtYcnu2F?source=shopsavvy&medium=article-review-tldr) | $10.99 | In Stock | 2024-10-29 (may have changed) | [See every retailer and the full price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/play-doh-4-pack-wild-colors) --- *About this review: it summarizes the professional reviews and customer ratings ShopSavvy collected for this product, alongside prices from ShopSavvy's price data (each price shows when it was last seen).* *Machine-readable access: append `.md` to any ShopSavvy URL, or send `Accept: text/markdown`, to get this page as Markdown.
