## Verdict

The Melissa & Doug 17-Piece Wooden Take-Along Tabletop Railroad is an excellent choice for parents seeking a durable, portable, and well-made wooden train set that encourages imaginative play and travels well. Its compact folding case and strong magnets keep everything neat and connected, though the size might feel a bit small for enthusiastic railroad builders. If you want a similar quality set but are looking for a larger track or more pieces, you might want to explore other Melissa & Doug train sets that can connect with this one for an expanded railroad experience.

**Top pro:** Made of solid, durable wood with thick, well-crafted pieces that stand up to rough toddler play
**Top con:** Could benefit from being slightly larger to allow more expansive play
