# TLDR Review: Furminator Long Hair Dog Brush *Published: 2025-05-28 | Updated: 2025-07-18 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/reviews-tldr/furminator-long-hair-dog-brush* --- ## Verdict The Furminator Long Hair deShedding Tool for Large Dogs is ideal for managing shedding in large breeds and heavy shedders, but not all users find it effective for specific dog coats like those of wooly huskies. While it significantly reduces shedding and leaves coats soft and fluffy, some users found more success with alternative brushes for similar or better results at a lesser price. If you're in need of a reliable and high-performing grooming tool, this could be worth considering, especially if you have heavy-shedding pets. **Top pro:** Significantly reduces shedding by up to 75% after just three weeks of use. **Top con:** Ineffective for Husky fur and not suitable for heavy shedders like wooly huskies. ## Product: Furminator Long Hair Dog Brush **Brand:** Furminator [Compare prices and price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/furminator-long-hair-dog-brush) ## Pros - Significantly reduces shedding by up to 75% after just three weeks of use. - Leaves the dog's coat soft and fluffy, enhancing comfort. - Highly effective for large breeds and heavy shedders like golden retriever mixes. - Durable construction with quality materials feels hefty and reliable. - The self-cleaning feature allows for easy one-handed cleaning, ideal for active pets. - Effectively removes a substantial amount of loose hair, minimizing the need for professional grooming services. - Users express overall satisfaction, with some wishing they had discovered the product sooner. - Doesn't pull hair when used correctly, ensuring a stress-free grooming experience for pets. ## Cons - Ineffective for Husky fur and not suitable for heavy shedders like wooly huskies. - Requires excessive time and effort, over two hours for effective use. - Considered overpriced for its performance, with some users finding other tools more effective. - The button designed to release collected hair is ineffective, requiring manual removal. - Users need to empty the collector frequently due to its efficient hair collection. - Design may look appealing but doesn't always deliver the expected results. ## Pros vs Cons at a Glance | Pros | Cons | |------|------| | Significantly reduces shedding by up to 75% after just three weeks of use. | Ineffective for Husky fur and not suitable for heavy shedders like wooly huskies. | | Leaves the dog's coat soft and fluffy, enhancing comfort. | Requires excessive time and effort, over two hours for effective use. | | Highly effective for large breeds and heavy shedders like golden retriever mixes. | Considered overpriced for its performance, with some users finding other tools more effective. | | Durable construction with quality materials feels hefty and reliable. | The button designed to release collected hair is ineffective, requiring manual removal. | | The self-cleaning feature allows for easy one-handed cleaning, ideal for active pets. | Users need to empty the collector frequently due to its efficient hair collection. | | Effectively removes a substantial amount of loose hair, minimizing the need for professional grooming services. | Design may look appealing but doesn't always deliver the expected results. | | Users express overall satisfaction, with some wishing they had discovered the product sooner. | | | Doesn't pull hair when used correctly, ensuring a stress-free grooming experience for pets. | | ## Last Seen Prices *Each price is the last one ShopSavvy observed, between 2025-01-24 and 2026-05-27;
