## Product: Epson 812 Ink Cartridge Set
**Brand:** Epson

## Pros
- Excellent quality color with vivid appearance, great for artistic printing
- The ink performs its intended job reliably, functioning effectively as described
- It is the correct type of ink for the specified printers
- The black ink XL cartridge supports larger print jobs, offering high capacity for black ink
- Many users find genuine Epson ink provides consistent quality without clogging or print issues

## Cons
- The ink runs out quickly, providing only about 20-30 prints of 11x17 size per pack, which feels expensive for high-volume needs
- Recent packages seem to have lower ink yield than older ones, possibly due to recent manufacturing changes
- For high-volume printing, all XL cartridges are recommended, but this increases cost
- The overall value is questionable, as the high price does not match the ink capacity or longevity
- Some users experienced printer failures or compatibility issues, with Epson insisting on only genuine cartridges
- Firmware updates have limited compatibility to Epson-only ink, pushing up costs
- The yellow cartridge sometimes isn’t recognized, causing frustration
- Several users feel the product is a scam with overpriced cartridges and poor durability
- The weight of genuine Epson cartridges indicates less ink compared to remanufactured options, suggesting lower capacity
- There are complaints about Epson support and perceived poor product durability

## Bottom Line

If you're a light to moderate printer user who values vibrant color and reliable performance, the Epson 812 DURABrite Ultra Ink combo might serve you well, but beware that recent packages have lower ink yields, making it expensive for higher-volume tasks. For frequent printing, especially of large documents, all-high capacity XL cartridges are recommended, but this can get costly. Many reviews highlight that OEM ink’s high price isn’t justified considering the lower ink content and comparable quality to third-party options. If longer-lasting and more cost-effective cartridges are your goal, exploring remanufactured or third-party alternatives might be worth your while — just be mindful of potential compatibility issues.
