# Zoo Med Cork Bark Medium *Published: 2026-03-12 | Updated: 2026-03-12 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/zoo-med-cork-bark-medium* --- **Brand:** Zoo Med **Price Range:** $7.04 - $46.92 across 60 retailers ## Pros - The cork bark offers a natural, attractive appearance that enhances reptile and small animal enclosures. - It helps maintain and slightly increase humidity, which is a plus for species needing moisture. - Stays securely in place when propped against the tank and weighted down by other accessories. - Provides good enrichment for pets like snakes, allowing them to rub on it during shedding. - Durable enough to withstand climbing and leaning without easily breaking. - Its medium flat size is great for transitioning reptiles like crested geckos into larger tanks. - Works well as a decorative background or feature, including in spider enclosures where climbing is appreciated. - Can be creatively used for crafting dioramas due to its natural texture and splintering. - Small size makes it a nice gift or stocking stuffer for reptile enthusiasts. - Despite minor imperfections like partial slices, pieces remain usable with simple trimming. ## Cons - The product often arrives in multiple smaller pieces rather than one solid slab, which some found disappointing. - The segmented look can give the appearance of breakage, undermining the natural aesthetic for some buyers. - Splinters easily, which might be unsuitable for live animals if not monitored carefully. - Labeling between flat, round, or arch styles is misleading and inconsistent, causing confusion and incorrect orders. - One user reported receiving a high arch when ordering a flat, rendering the product unusable for their needs. - Strength and size can vary between pieces, though exchanges are straightforward. - Some pieces have defects like partial slices, requiring extra trimming or adjustments. ##
