# Worthington Flex STEM Lighter *Published: 2025-02-26 | Updated: 2025-02-26 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/worthington-flex-stem-lighter* --- **Brand:** Worthington **Price Range:** $4.29 - $48.63 across 31 retailers ## Pros - Flexible neck is long enough to reach difficult spots, such as water heater pilot tubes. - Spark mechanism works consistently, providing a reliable spark every time. - Some users report it works well in cold and windy conditions. - Designed for easy operation, making it suitable for all users, even those who find traditional lighters difficult. - Positive experiences for some users, with one using theirs without issues for 10 years. ## Cons - Frequently stops working after limited uses, even when following storage and refueling instructions. - Many units fail to ignite, requiring an external lighter to assist, leading to user frustration. - Common issues include weak flames, leakage, and sometimes failing to light unless on maximum settings. - Despite full fuel levels, lighter consistently fails to ignite. - Quality is inconsistent; multiple purchases result in similar issues, leading to frustration. - The item does not meet expectations for reliability and is considered poor quality compared to disposable alternatives. - Difficulty maintaining a flame after refueling, even with recommended butane. - A high number of units experience functionality issues, deterring repeat purchases. - Recommendation to consider more reliable lighting options, such as Bic or Zippo. - Perceived as deceptive for users who expected a reusable product due to its branding. ##
