# Timber Tuff *Published: 2026-01-10 | Updated: 2026-01-10 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/timber-tuff* --- **Brand:** Timber Tuff **Price Range:** $21.06 - $234.65 across 15 retailers ## Pros - Handles heavy-duty projects like building log cabins and ripping 20" logs with a 14" bar when used carefully. - Produces straight, square beams and more uniform planks compared to hand slabbing, reducing finishing time. - Durable enough to leave on the chainsaw during other tasks without issues. - Simple design with straightforward assembly, even if instructions are a bit lacking. - Easy and quick setup using a guide board that supports the chainsaw's weight, minimizing user fatigue. - Adjustable angle feature allows cutting at different heights and distances from the ground. - Drilling and bolting the jig directly to the chainsaw bar drastically improves stability over relying on set screws. - Works best for occasional use by handy, safety-conscious DIYers rather than professionals. - Sturdy construction that, despite some play in the chainsaw bar, doesn’t majorly impact cut straightness. - Produces surprisingly clean, consistent cuts after making the recommended modifications. ## Cons - Set screws designed to secure the jig tend to slip, dulling the chain and causing dangerous shifts. - Requires drilling holes in the chainsaw bar and modifying clamps for proper, secure mounting—extra effort involved. - Bolt loosening is a common issue; frequent checks and tightening during use are necessary to maintain safety. - Chainsaw handles can be uncomfortable during the physical effort involved in milling. - Generates a large amount of sawdust, which tends to accumulate on the operator. - Not suitable for fine woodworking or commercial milling due to limited accuracy. - Limited clearance for nuts on bolts often forces users to cut part of the clamp for proper fit. - Adjustment of the cutting angle demands extra arm strength and could benefit from a mechanism to lock it firmly in place. - Mounting the jig incorrectly (not bolted to the bar) leads to poor function and potential damage. - Sharpening long chainsaw chains manually is time-consuming, impacting ongoing maintenance. ## Last Seen Prices | Retailer | Price | Availability | Last seen | Store's standard terms | |----------|-------|-------------|-----------|------------------------| | [Grainger Industrial Supply](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/T2xCrVJDBfRe5teCE01v?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $21.06 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [Amazon](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/ciW161xCSkzxvveUX9dr?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $21.95 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [Zoro](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/LEMYzUuwfRnOUMVIvCjb?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $24.05 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [Chain Saws Direct](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/rtUkWb8z0oFSDGqpYcsz?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $24.99 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [Rockler Woodworking and Hardware](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/Jnv2BQbabRUGzNDCev3u?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $24.99 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [Tractor Supply Company](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/uC94Khn92pORGrp8e2ok?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $29.99 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [forestry-suppliers.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/0zCSCFu3r0NWCzCEHK7F?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $30.25 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [Neobits.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/zIYK45DiInjF3PwC0xWY?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $30.95 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/lowes](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/8f280150-45cc-cb82-2eeb-0e92a6fa0210?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $39.00 | In Stock | 2026-01-10 (may have changed) | 90-day returns (in store too) | | [retailers/farmandfleet](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/36ee88c3-0164-e376-aedc-29be0d8eb5c4?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $39.99 | In Stock | 2026-01-10 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/viglink](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/87225997-1523-1fdb-4cfc-7b83b18b42b7?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $39.99 | In Stock | 2026-01-10 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/walmart](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/65f52b94-3841-2994-7b49-fe8e88776896?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $41.89 | In Stock | 2026-01-10 (may have changed) | 90-day returns (in store too) | | [retailers/bestbuy](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/6e9ccb29-4e29-9f41-aab9-9964d2c5a1a6?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $41.89 | In Stock | 2026-01-10 (may have changed) | 15-day returns (in store too) · free return shipping · free shipping on $35+ | | [BestReviews](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/UIy6rGjbrDR3icHmpBxk?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $99.96 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | | [TigerSupplies.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/LmlikUVNt7xFmBceYpHt/offers/EsmpeXWLg2dB981FWiNH?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $234.65 | In Stock | 2020-01-09 (may have changed) | | *Store terms are each retailer's standard return and shipping policy from ShopSavvy's retailer research;
