# Solo Stove Pi Prime Pizza Oven *Published: 2025-12-19 | Updated: 2025-12-19 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/solo-stove-pi-prime-pizza-oven* --- **Brand:** Solo Stove **Price Range:** $28.45 - $604 across 32 retailers ## Pros - Heats up quickly, reaching temperatures between 750°F to 800°F in about 15-25 minutes, even in cold or windy conditions. - Cooks pizzas very fast, typically within 60-90 seconds once preheated properly. - Excellent heat distribution thanks to the demi-dome design and two-part cordierite stone cooking surface. - Versatile enough to cook not just pizza, but also burgers, vegetables, steaks, and hotdogs, especially with the use of accessories like a cast iron skillet. - Wide-mouthed opening provides a larger viewing window for easy monitoring and pizza handling. - Clear and simple instructions make setup and use straightforward, even for beginners. - Precise flame control allows better cooking results without burning the toppings or crust. - Moderately portable with a durable stainless steel build, suitable for RV camping and outdoor gatherings. - Enhances social and outdoor experiences by being a fun centerpiece, encouraging interactive cooking. - Works well with a variety of dough types, including sourdough and homemade starter dough, allowing for creative experimentation. ## Cons - Initial ignition can be tricky, sometimes requiring multiple attempts before the flame catches and burns steadily. - The oven's size and shape make it bulkier and less portable compared to some more compact pizza ovens. - The stone heats unevenly, with the back typically getting hotter than the front, which may cause inconsistent pizza cooking. - Crust crispiness is sometimes lacking; pizzas often come out doughier than expected, and it struggles to produce the classic charred, wood-fired texture. - Lowering heat to compensate for crust doneness doesn't fully solve the issue of doughiness. - Requires specialized accessories like a long-handled pizza turner or docker for the best experience and safety. - Best suited for pizzas about 10 inches in diameter, which limits the size of pies you can cook. - Some users report a learning curve to master pizza rotation and timing for perfect results. - The maximum temperature, while high, doesn’t reach the advertised 900°F, topping out around 750-800°F. ## Last Seen Prices | Retailer |
