# SmartCat Scratching Post *Published: 2025-08-30 | Updated: 2025-08-30 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/smartcat-scratching-post* --- **Brand:** SmartCat **Price Range:** $39.99 - $330 across 22 retailers ## Pros - Made with superior quality sisal fabric, which cats find more satisfying than sisal rope. - Heavy-duty, sturdy design with a large square base prevents tipping, even during vigorous use. - Tall enough for grown cats to fully stretch, promoting healthy scratching behavior. - Easy to assemble, taking just a screwdriver and about 2 minutes. - Neutral colors and aesthetic design make it blend well with home decor. - Effectively redirects scratching behavior away from furniture. - Durable and long-lasting, noted for extended use up to multiple years. - Encourages daily use; attracts cats with or without incentives like catnip. - Excellent stability, encouraging regular use without wobble or tipping. ## Cons - Some cats may initially be hesitant and require patience to adapt. - Visible seams and screws can detract from its appearance. - Large size may not fit all spaces, potentially taking up considerable room. - Wood is particle-board, which may not match some expectations based on product images. - Corners of the base can be uncomfortable if stubbed against. ##
