## Pros
- Specifically designed for NAS use with high duty cycles and constant spinning under heavy workloads, making it perfect for always-on environments.
- Uses conventional magnetic recording (CMR), ensuring reliable RAID configurations and avoiding pitfalls of SMR drives marketed as NAS-compatible.
- Rugged, robust build quality that outlasts typical NAS hardware and withstands long-term, continuous 24/7 operation.
- Runs quietly and stays cooler than many competitors, about 3 to 4°C cooler in the same enclosure, which helps longevity.
- Proven long-term reliability with real-world reports of over 6 years and 54,000+ running hours without failure.
- Performs exceptionally well in RAID 1 and RAID 6 setups, ideal for users prioritizing data redundancy and stability.
- Comes with a rescue data recovery service, adding an extra layer of protection for valuable data.
- Trusted brand with consistent firmware updates and strong customer support, giving peace of mind.
- Suitable for both NAS and desktop PC use, offering flexibility for different storage needs.
- Excellent choice for professional environments such as dedicated VM storage due to its durability and consistent performance.

## Cons
- Higher price point compared to less robust hard drives, which may not justify the cost for casual or light NAS users.
- Mechanical drive technology means it’s slower than SSDs, so it’s not recommended if ultra-high-speed access is your main goal.
- While the drive is built for endurance, constant heavy use eventually leads to failure, though warranty and rescue services mitigate this.
- 28TB capacity might be overkill for some home NAS scenarios, where smaller drives could suffice more cost-effectively.
- No significant innovations beyond durability and NAS-optimized features—if you want cutting-edge speed, look elsewhere.
