# Sandisk Ultra USB 256 GB *Published: 2025-01-16 | Updated: 2025-02-08 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/sandisk-ultra-usb-256-gb* --- **Brand:** SanDisk **Price Range:** $18.84 - $330.01 across 70 retailers ## Pros - Compatible with both MAC and PC, offering versatility right out of the package. - Provides great value for the price, deemed one of the best options in its category. - Delivers exceptional read speeds averaging around 160MB/s and write speeds between 15MB/s to 25MB/s, ensuring quick file transfers. - Reliable for transferring large files that cannot be emailed or sent via cloud services. - Features a straightforward setup process with intuitive formatting instructions. - Includes security software, useful for protecting files. - Offers ample storage capacity for files, games, and media. - Highly durable and reliable, performs consistently without errors. ## Cons - Some units reported failures, with issues such as not being recognized or mounting properly. - Advertised capacity may appear less due to measurement discrepancies, not necessarily a malicious claim. - Comes pre-formatted in FAT32, limiting handling of file sizes; reformatting to NTFS is suggested for larger files. - Some users found the USB stick's sliding case cumbersome, leading to potential design frustrations. - Previous iterations of SanDisk's software were found wanting, with limited updates and usability challenges. ## Specifications | Attribute | Value | |-----------|-------| | model | SDCZ48-256G-A46 | | mpn | SDCZ48-256G-A46 | | capacity | 256 GB | | color | black | |
