## Pros
- Provides excellent, rugged protection with tough, grippy rubber skin and reinforced corners that absorb shocks well.
- Made of high-quality, durable materials typical of OtterBox’s reputation, guaranteeing strong, reliable defense against drops and impacts.
- Features a multi-layer design with a soft silicone inner shell and a rigid outer bumper for superior protection.
- Built-in screen protector and port covers block dust and dirt, enhancing device safety.
- The four-position kickstand is versatile, enabling comfortable typing, media viewing, portrait use, and streaming.
- Perfectly fits the iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) with a streamlined yet rugged design.
- Includes convenient Apple Pencil storage and two lanyard attachment points for added utility.
- Despite its bulk, feels solidly constructed and robust enough for heavy-duty or industrial environments.
- Replacement units have improved the kickstand mechanism, making it smoother and less flimsy.

## Cons
- The case is quite bulky and heavy (around 1.4 lbs), which can detract from everyday portability and ease of use.
- Some users found the kickstand on earlier versions frustrating or fragile, though replacements improved this.
- Does not support Touch ID functionality, which could be inconvenient for some users.
- Higher price point compared to other rugged cases that may offer similar protection.
- The design for the iPad Pro case feels less refined or slimmer compared to OtterBox cases for other devices like iPhones or the iPad Air.
- Occasional reports of the Defender housing itself breaking after very significant drops, although still protecting the device inside.
