# New Balance 990 V6 Sneaker *Published: 2026-01-07 | Updated: 2026-01-07 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/new-balance-990-v6-sneaker* --- **Brand:** New Balance **Price Range:** $135 - $200 across 10 retailers ## Pros - Extremely comfortable right out of the box, often described as walking on clouds. - Wide width option available, providing good toe box room especially for walking and all-day wear. - Excellent quality construction and high-quality materials that hold up well over time. - Versatile design that works well with both active and casual wear, stylish enough for various occasions. - Hallmark New Balance stability combined with good cushioning, delivering a pleasant balance of comfort and support. - Minimal heel-to-forefoot drop avoids the downhill sensation common in higher-drop shoes, preferred by many users. - Fits well in width, though users often recommend sizing down by about half to one full size because it runs large in length. - Reliable comfort over extended periods, reportedly better than many other running shoes for casual or walking needs. ## Cons - Fits about 1 to 1.5 sizes larger than labeled, so ordering smaller than your usual size is essential to avoid poor fit. - The redesigned FuelCell foam prioritizes softness over firmness, leading to a spongy midsole that some say reduces stability compared to the previous 990v5 version. - Foam loses resilience after extended use, which reduces ground feedback and can affect balance, especially for people with neuropathy or who need firmer footing. - Not the best choice for those who prioritize maximal stability and support for intense running or walking; previous 990v5 preferred for that. - Insoles are minimal and may require replacement for better arch support and cushioning. - Laces are standard quality and not premium, which may be a minor drawback for some expecting higher-end details. ## About This Product In the spring of 1978, New Balance gave their designers the go-ahead on an ambitious undertaking: develop the very best running shoe, regardless of the time it takes or the money it costs. The result was the 990, a shoe that’s been raising the bar on quality ever since. With the 990v6, the legend continues. A perfect blend of cushioning and style, this shoe looks as good on your morning run as it does on the runway. New Balance MADE contains a domestic value of 70% or more. MADE makes up a limited portion of New Balance’s US sales. ## Last Seen Prices | Retailer | Price | Availability | Last seen | Store's standard terms | |----------|-------|-------------|-----------|------------------------| | [retailers/stockx](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/cf502d76-0374-ae8c-bce2-d0bc1cb3bf34?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $135.00 | In Stock | 2026-01-19 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/amazon](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/0934c2f2-3667-362f-68b6-a52790ec7599?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $179.89 | In Stock | 2026-02-26 (may have changed) | 30-day returns (in store too) | | [retailers/holabirdsports](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/0e4124dc-6b54-9311-8d10-bdd3f5701d06?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $199.95 | In Stock | 2026-02-26 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/viglink](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/24ea742c-528e-3073-f81d-7893d80eb4df?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $199.95 | In Stock | 2026-01-07 (may have changed) | | | [rogansshoes.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/62433263-d215-5101-1414-b86d85d8aa4f?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $199.95 | In Stock | 2023-12-04 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/dickssportinggoods](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/4a1ad3f1-092a-fdad-f78b-413ebf97a322?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $199.99 | In Stock | 2026-01-19 (may have changed) | 90-day returns (in store too) | | [retailers/bloomingdales](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/f9a9ce2e-e608-3d0c-2d4c-6817f6bcdd16?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $199.99 | In Stock | 2026-01-19 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/scheels](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/9928e799-a1f5-bc42-8e37-36129b04d4ba?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $199.99 | In Stock | 2026-02-26 (may have changed) | | | [retailers/macys](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/aa4742a5-3999-5694-bdd0-7aae201526c4?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $200.00 | In Stock | 2026-02-26 (may have changed) | 30-day returns (in store too) · free shipping on $25+ | | [retailers/footlocker](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/UDmzzcM7AHnpcCBa4W0a/offers/c07e340c-91fd-f904-ecc9-0699aa2ab323?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $200.00 | In Stock | 2026-01-19 (may have changed) | | *Store terms are each retailer's standard return and shipping policy from ShopSavvy's retailer research; some products and categories differ, so check with the store before buying.* [See every retailer and the full price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/new-balance-990-v6-sneaker) --- *About this page: ShopSavvy compares prices across thousands of retailers, aggregates expert and user reviews, and tracks price history to help you make informed buying decisions.
