# MSI GeForce RTX 3090 VENTUS 3X 24G OC *Published: 2026-02-09 | Updated: 2026-02-09 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/msi-geforce-rtx-3090-ventus-3x-24g-oc* --- **Brand:** GIGABYTE **Price Range:** $1269.99 - $4074 across 10 retailers ## Pros - Delivers excellent and reliable gaming performance, easily handling the latest titles at max settings with high frame rates, especially at 1080p and 1440p resolutions. - Runs impressively quiet compared to similar models, with fans remaining off during light 4K use and only spinning at low speeds under heavy load. - Features a BIOS switch offering a “Silent” mode and a “Gaming” mode with 0 RPM fan operation until around 60°C, balancing thermals and noise well. - Premium build quality and thoughtful design that avoids generic copycat aesthetics, with versatile mounting options and a better cooling solution than some MSI counterparts like the Strix model. - Large 24GB GDDR6X memory capacity caters not only to gamers but is also excellent for professional workflows such as machine learning or 4K video rendering, significantly cutting render times compared to older GPUs. - Efficient cooling keeps temperatures reasonable under normal conditions (up to ~70°C) with adjustable fan curves for those wanting extra thermal headroom. - Supports high refresh rate gaming, fully exploiting 165Hz monitors with smooth and stable frame rates. - Power-hungry but stable operation offers longevity and future-proofing for demanding games and workloads. ## Cons - Physically very large, requiring spacious cases and potentially upgraded power supplies to handle power draw and size, which could be limiting for smaller builds. - Premium price point is steep and might only be justifiable for professionals or enthusiasts who can leverage the full 24GB VRAM and extreme performance. - Not an ideal choice for cryptocurrency mining due to high risk of overheating (memory junction temps reaching 96–100°C) even with aggressive undervolting and fans at max, which compromises long-term health. - The included support holder to prevent GPU sag is ineffective; an aftermarket support bracket is recommended. - While quieter than rivals, coil whine is still audible upon close inspection. - Some games with heavy ray tracing (like Gotham Knights) suffer poor performance, indicating this card is excellent for rasterization but ray tracing still impacts frame rates notably. - Considered the lowest quality or entry-level build within MSI’s RTX 3090 lineup (Ventus series), which may feel less premium compared to higher-end MSI variants. ## Specifications | Attribute | Value | |-----------|-------| | model | RTX 3090 | | mpn | VENTUS 3X 24G OC | | brand | MSI | | memory | 24GB | | memoryType | GDDR6X | | bitWidth | 384-Bit | ## Last Seen Prices | Retailer | Price | Availability | Last seen | Store's standard terms | |----------|-------|-------------|-----------|------------------------| | [Newegg](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/SAtHtlnbs9xfkKUJRu4Z?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1269.99 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | 30-day returns | | [Newegg Business](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/oQj87cMfwF9nCc1SCZpf?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1269.99 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | | | [Beach Audio](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/vxFIThUsdfP3kseAyeZB?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1389.70 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | | | [Walmart](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/QCN2UDWiONMVAy2FQEqN?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1423.18 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | 90-day returns (in store too) | | [retailers/amazon](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/hXJwspTbrwhq3nPkV6hD?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1599.99 | In Stock | 2026-02-09 (may have changed) | | | [MercadoMagico](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/9MA2liNHU6rivYndtmc0?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1801.99 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | | | [Arsenal PC](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/HuE2AHO5zA6xHxqPtqMH?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1926.23 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | | | [CDW](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/s4o1p36MjPZ0zFk5aOYU?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $1988.99 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | | | [CompSource](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/JLkptmF8uKGLuRCxlIJ0?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $2008.80 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | | | [IT Creations](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/xcuFpcR8NPGvlN8kNg1M/offers/gxDOuJSds4X09Qxv8NE8?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $4074.00 | In Stock | 2022-07-22 (may have changed) | | *Store terms are each retailer's standard return and shipping policy from ShopSavvy's retailer research;
