Summary as of Oct 12, 2026. ## Pros - Performs well for making multiple 1" holes in 1/2" plywood. - Smooth action along guide posts with no binding experienced. - Easy to hold due to the attached handle. - Drills true once the bit contacts the wood, despite some play when moving the press. - Assembly is simple and straightforward, making it user-friendly. - High-quality components, with die cast metal used for the guide head and main base, ensuring durability. - Heavy and strong guide bars contribute to stability and performance. - Well-made with a solid feel, indicating durability and quality. - Greatly enhances confidence and ability to drill holes accurately. - Highly recommended for those working on projects involving latches and handles. ## Cons - Base could be heavier for better stability; bushings would be improved if metal instead of plastic. - The drill chuck easily detaches when attempting to reverse the drill, rendering it useless. - No set screws or reliable mechanisms to secure the chuck, leading to frustration. - User experienced significant issues on first use, making it seem unreliable for practical applications. - Customer service was unresponsive, only allowing a message to be left without resolution. ## Specifications | Attribute | Value | |-----------|-------| | model | 1318 | | mpn | DrillMate | | dimensionsUnit | inches | | weight | not specified | | color | not specified | | material | die cast metal, plastic | | brand | Milescraft | | manufacturer | Milescraft | | chuckSize | 3/8" | | productType | Drilling Guide/Attachment | | usage | Drilling angled or straight holes | ## About This Product You can’t take a drill press with you everywhere you go, but you can take a Milescraft® DrillMate™.
