# Metabo HPT Belt Sander *Published: 2026-03-24 | Updated: 2026-03-24 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/metabo-hpt-belt-sander* --- **Brand:** Metabo HPT **Price Range:** $29.99 - $416.12 across 17 retailers ## Pros - Packs plenty of power with its 9.0 Amp motor and variable speed, making material removal efficient. - Solidly built with a sturdy metal body that feels durable and high-quality. - Lightweight at 6.5 lbs compared to many competitors, which helps with portability and reduces fatigue during extended use. - Comfortable and ergonomic grips make handling easier for longer sanding sessions. - Simple belt changes with easy-to-adjust tracking that keeps the belt aligned well. - Design allows sanding flush into corners, a handy feature for woodworking detail work. - Dust collection works reasonably well out of the box, minimizing cleanup, and it’s compatible with external dust collectors for better results. - Comes with a solid warranty and is backed by a trusted brand through the Metabo collaboration. - Offers strong overall value for its price point, especially considering the power and features. ## Cons - Some users report that the platen is bowed or distorted, leading to aggressive and uneven stock removal with visible gouges and swirl marks after finishing. - Achieving a smooth, quality finish can be challenging; it requires light, careful pressure and somewhat awkward sanding motions. - The dust bag attachment is awkwardly positioned near the handle and uncomfortable to operate, often prompting users to remove it for better dust management outdoors. - Belt release lever is small and fiddly, making belt changes a bit frustrating. - Product design feels slightly outdated and inconvenient compared to newer models on the market. - While powerful, some users wish it had just a little more muscle for really heavy-duty paint or finish removal tasks. - Visible wear marks or scratches on the tool itself at delivery suggest possible factory testing but were not disclosed beforehand. - Best suited for users who already have some experience with belt sanders, as beginners might find it tricky to get perfect results. ## Specifications | Attribute | Value | |-----------|-------| | model | HPT SB8V2S | | mpn | SB8V2S | | sku | HPT-SB8V2S | | dimensionsUnit | inches | | weight | 6.5 | | color | green | | power | 9.0 Amp | | brand | Metabo HPT | | manufacturer | Metabo HPT | ## Last Seen Prices | Retailer | Price | Availability | Last seen | |----------|-------|-------------|-----------| | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/H01yeyUAGGwpPMevIEJ4?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $29.99 | In Stock | 2023-04-30 (may have changed) | | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/zvJOYut3E16h8rMToIrV?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $41.70 | In Stock | 2023-05-09 (may have changed) | | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/7OZWKwPMYLAOI0rASHUf?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $41.70 | In Stock | 2023-04-28 (may have changed) | | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/bIVGIZfmxD3vq0zLiz2U?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $53.70 | In Stock | 2023-05-08 (may have changed) | | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/zxMpp4BInriSQypCVtts?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $53.70 | In Stock | 2023-05-08 (may have changed) | | [retailers/rlwarehouse](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/W7qw3H0RZaq6mq3KujHd?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $90.00 | In Stock | 2026-03-24 (may have changed) | | [Fassstore](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/859zTyS2uoMNpiskKmVD?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $109.99 | In Stock | 2022-07-21 (may have changed) | | [Nicolinacolbie](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/nLh2G68QJJDw74JobZyZ?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $109.99 | In Stock | 2022-07-16 (may have changed) | | [The BuildClub](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/ccovnp1LFymz1jTCA2rB?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $135.00 | In Stock | 2022-07-21 (may have changed) | | [Amazon](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/S15TEF2lnnU6JyE1Y3RP?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $139.00 | In Stock | 2023-05-15 (may have changed) | | [Zarase](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/3SohxUhGyLp8NBEmTYxZ?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $158.95 | In Stock | 2022-07-21 (may have changed) | | [Walmart](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/NePJPYZWgabeid1FCvJh?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $164.99 | In Stock | 2022-07-08 (may have changed) | | [DoorDash.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/20a8b90b-3a94-a4c7-028e-2df61fde4ff8?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $169.00 | In Stock | 2024-06-09 (may have changed) | | [The Tool Nut](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/A1jyHDG6mEWHwmZKylSn?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $169.00 | In Stock | 2022-07-21 (may have changed) | | [Hediso](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/5CEjKDYXOFC9tuHXebJX?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $190.74 | In Stock | 2022-07-21 (may have changed) | | [retailers/yardohome](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/d7f56416-f93d-a39f-6d06-d81f55c420d3?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $198.43 | In Stock | 2026-03-24 (may have changed) | | [rehmie.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/ymCO9ZlMv8tHK8Da0zaZ/offers/Ujk1B4sq3l9VvLMUvC6N?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $416.12 | In Stock | 2022-07-21 (may have changed) | [See every retailer and the full price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/metabo-hpt-belt-sander) --- *About this page: ShopSavvy compares prices across thousands of retailers, aggregates expert and user reviews, and tracks price history to help you make informed buying decisions.
