**Brand:** Marantz
**Price Range:** $599 - $816.37 across 5 retailers

## Pros
- Produces phenomenal, clear, and distortion-free sound despite its compact and slim size.
- Easy and straightforward setup thanks to HDMI ARC support, intuitive automatic speaker calibration with the included microphone, and logical on-screen guidance.
- Supports multiple HDMI inputs, making it versatile for connecting devices like PS4, Blu-ray players, turntables, and laptops.
- Offers precise 0.5 dB volume adjustment increments and reliable AV sound across very high and low volumes.
- Includes HEOS internet music streaming and supports Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay, offering flexible wireless music options.
- Compatible with Alexa via an Echo device, enabling smart home integration.
- Can control TV power and volume alongside the AV receiver with a single remote.
- The 5.2 channel system delivers excellent surround sound performance suitable for 60Hz TVs and 5.1 setups.
- Wide range of analog and digital inputs caters well to audiophiles who still use component-era connections.
- Integration with Logitech Harmony hub works smoothly, enhancing remote control convenience.

## Cons
- Setup process can be tedious and time-consuming; the receiver isn’t fully functional until software updates via the app are completed.
- The USB port remains powered in standby mode, which could lead to unnecessary power consumption.
- HEOS app integration is somewhat confusing when AirPlay is already available, creating redundancy.
- The unit can get hot during initial use and emits a noticeable smell—proper ventilation is essential.
- Bluetooth audio quality is reportedly poor by some, described as scratchy and lacking volume power.
- Remote control is bulky, non-backlit, and cluttered with redundant buttons, making it less user-friendly.
- Does not support 4K video at 120Hz, maxing out at 60Hz, limiting future-proofing for next-gen gaming or video.
- Alexa compatibility is limited by region and requires an external Echo device, not built-in.
- The unit is quite heavy (around 28 pounds) and longer than expected, necessitating ample space despite its slim design.
- Some users find the receiver’s performance and reliability less satisfying compared to Yamaha alternatives in the same price range.
