# KILZ 2 Latex Primer, 1-gallon *Published: 2026-03-18 | Updated: 2026-03-18 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/kilz-2-latex-primer-1-gallon* --- **Brand:** Kilz **Price Range:** $9.23 - $398 across 74 retailers ## Pros - Works exceptionally well as a drywall primer and stain blocker, often covering tough stains like smoke, grease, and tobacco in one or two coats. - Completely eliminates strong pet urine and feces odors, sealing in unpleasant smells effectively. - Dries quickly, typically within 30 minutes, which speeds up painting projects. - Leaves a white matte finish that can be painted over smoothly or left as a sealed surface. - Easy cleanup with just water or mild soap and features low odor, making it comfortable to use indoors. - Prevents mold growth in damp environments such as bathrooms and subflooring, supporting long-term moisture control. - Provides professional-quality results, trusted by contractors and homeowners alike. - Smooth application with good spreadability, works well on a variety of surfaces including textured popcorn ceilings, plaster, lath walls, and exterior siding. - Creates a reliable base for topcoats, preventing stains and odors from bleeding through and improving paint adhesion. - Offers durable protection and long-lasting performance for both interior and exterior uses. ## Cons - Requires multiple coats (usually 2-3) for best coverage and to fully eliminate stubborn odors or dark stains. - Some users noted that while it performs very well, it may not be a one-coat miracle for every problem surface. - A few reports of customer service interactions being less than helpful or attentive when purchasing, though this is unrelated to the product itself. ## Specifications | Attribute | Value | |-----------|-------| | product_name | KILZ 2 Multi-Surface Stain Blocking Interior/Exterior Latex Primer/Sealer | | color | white | | size | 1 gallon | | application | primer and sealer | ## Current Prices | Retailer | Price | Availability | |----------|-------|-------------| | [litvon](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/rU2isjRV4ZPgVmPCQzk5?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $9.23 | Check | | [Giftiks](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/X4vRGxDRIcA4VTDmPB3i?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $9.59 | Check | | [blain farm & fleet](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/m7OD9DcGtYKpvGPt6gDL?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $9.99 | Check | | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/ErpUGz1z2106NGruwDXt?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $11.22 | Check | | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/u5YR7rJDi26SXfDNuxEY?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $11.22 | Check | | [My Store](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/348FNyVpQvvpA6ORyM7J?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $11.50 | Check | | [Benjamin Moore Miramar Paint Center](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/rRFd8UpYK99czugivFGU?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $11.99 | Check | | [bucohomes](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/86aKfSW4qGto5nRqMDzB?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $14.00 | Check | | [Laxrioduduz](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/muxRlllGJKCcaUvNgAqP?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $14.00 | Check | | [Super Arbor](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/2fd7848b-45ef-16b7-90cc-6607d2fd9db5?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $16.83 | Check | | [The BuildClub](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/xszrMsWml16jpIISIrtU?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $21.60 | Check | | [Shell Lumber and Hardware](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/GqT1ZGYDBVj9LhTlSe4h?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $21.98 | Check | | [Bonanza](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/jifC1Aqrb5Ug8puyB6I6?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $22.76 | Check | | [Coopersville Hardware](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/6U4i9f3ZOYQPPCTn1hxa?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $22.99 | Check | | [Frankfort Hardware](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/RJXmEVJvFNo349oxinZr?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $22.99 | Check | | [Koopman Lumber & Hardware](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/ty7TQu4hLavRCer2vkOh?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $22.99 | Check | | [Hartville Hardware](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/98dbcc23-d07a-9dd9-bc0f-8589a9834ca8?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $23.97 | Check | | [Walmart](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/1884b96f-d9d8-5519-a818-32694f4d9b4f?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $23.97 | Check | | [The Home Depot](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/9405578e-c2d3-98d1-9321-7d5decd581f4?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $23.98 | Check | | [Cornell's True Value Hardware](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/t5frXxwYm3hewiklPJ4e/offers/z63VePHLC5S0bZCgrDa1?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $23.99 | Check | [See every retailer and the full price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/kilz-2-latex-primer-1-gallon) --- *About this page: ShopSavvy compares prices across thousands of retailers, aggregates expert and user reviews, and tracks price history to help you make informed buying decisions.
