# CRC Metallic Block Seal *Published: 2026-04-04 | Updated: 2026-04-04 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/crc-metallic-block-seal* --- **Brand:** CRC **Price Range:** $5.99 - $35.41 across 23 retailers ## Pros - Seals small cracks and leaks in head gaskets, engine blocks, freeze plugs, and radiators effectively when used as directed. - Forms a permanent molecular bond reputed to be as strong as steel, offering a long-term fix rather than a temporary patch. - Has been trusted and rated No.1 by independent testing labs, with a proven track record spanning over 40 years. - Many users report successful, lasting repairs when the product application instructions are carefully followed. - Requires no antifreeze—only tap water—which simplifies the preparation process. - Works better after draining and flushing existing coolant, then allowing the product to cure during about 500 miles of driving. - Users note that minor leaks often stop within 75 miles, although continued driving and careful monitoring is needed. - Provides clear warning signs of potential head gasket leaks to help users identify issues before applying the sealant. - Reliable enough that many users highly recommend it for addressing head gasket issues without immediate engine disassembly. ## Cons - The product must be used very specifically (such as following exact instructions, flushing coolant, maintaining water levels) for effectiveness, requiring patience and process adherence. - Some users experienced the product solidifying inside the can, rendering it unusable despite following all instructions. - If leaks persist after 500 miles of driving, the damage is likely too severe or outside the treated area, meaning the sealant won’t work. - Not effective for larger or more severe damage, limiting its usefulness to smaller cracks and leaks only. - Requires frequent radiator checks and topping off water during the curing period, which can be inconvenient. - Performance and quality may feel average or mediocre compared to premium repair solutions. - The design and packaging do not stand out or add ease of use features, leading to some user frustration. ## About This Product Forms a permanent molecular bond that's as strong as steel.
