# CeraVe Healing Ointment *Published: 2026-03-15 | Updated: 2026-03-15 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/cerave-healing-ointment* --- **Brand:** CeraVe **Price Range:** $7.48 - $37.46 across 16 retailers ## Pros - Deeply penetrates skin barriers for long-lasting moisture rather than just sitting on the skin surface. - Soothes irritation and effectively heals cracks on face, hands, lips, and various other areas. - Non-comedogenic formula doesn’t clog pores, making it suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin. - Provides significant relief for eczema, visibly improving tough patches and flare-ups. - Strengthens and smooths the skin barrier, boosting the effects of other skincare products when used as a final step. - Fragrance-free and gentle, well-tolerated by sensitive and eczema-affected skin. - Beneficial for wound healing and reducing irritation and potential scarring. - Comes in convenient tube packaging that’s easy to dispense without mess. - Works well as a multipurpose ointment: great for diaper rash, chapped lips, and dry, cracked hands and feet. - Highly favored as a petroleum jelly alternative, performing better in occlusiveness without heaviness. ## Cons - Thick, heavy consistency can be difficult to squeeze out of the tube and rub into the skin. - Leaves a greasy residue initially, which some find inconvenient for daytime use, especially around devices like keyboards or phones. - Claims of being non-greasy are contradicted by many users who experience a sticky or oily feel. - Less effective than typical lotions on extremely dry areas such as cracked knuckles. - Initial greasy feel may require patience before clothes or bedding to avoid transfer. ## Specifications | Attribute | Value | |-----------|-------| | productName | CeraVe Healing Ointment - Moisturizing Skin Protectant with Hyaluronic Acid & Ceramides | | consistency | thick ointment | | packagingType | tube | | applicationMethod | apply a small amount to skin | | fragrance | fragrance-free | | recommendedUsage | apply after moisturizing cream or lotion | | storageInstructions | store at room temperature | | brand | CeraVe | | texture | lightweight | ## About This Product CeraVe Healing Ointment is a lanolin-free, non-greasy formula designed to hydrate and soothe very dry skin.
