Pros - The steel blade is extremely durable, holding up well under heavy use and tough red clay soil. - The high-quality hickory wood handle is strong and built for long-lasting durability. - The shovel’s construction is reliable and solid, consistent with The Ames Companies, Inc's reputation. - It performs effectively for various landscaping tasks, including digging trenches and general use. - The shovel has a good weight and balance, making it comfortable and easy to handle. - The steel blade is sharp and cuts easily through heavy soil, improving efficiency. - Offers better quality and durability compared to similar local store options. - Provides reasonable value for the price considering the materials and craftsmanship. ## Cons - The green foam hand grip tends to tear after only light use, indicating a weak spot on an otherwise sturdy tool. - Some users noted the need to sharpen the blade when new for optimal performance. - The top of the handle may arrive with minor cosmetic damage, though it does not affect functionality. ##
