# 3M Headlight Restoration System *Published: 2026-02-21 | Updated: 2026-02-21 | Source: https://shopsavvy.com/products/3m-headlight-restoration-system* --- **Brand:** 3M **Price Range:** $12.06 - $86.2 across 107 retailers ## Pros - Restores headlights to a crystal clear, like-new condition, greatly improving brightness and appearance. - Simple and easy to use with clear instructions, suitable even for beginners who follow the steps carefully. - Includes all necessary materials and sanding disks, with enough supply for multiple uses—no extra purchases required. - Using a low-speed drill makes sanding easier to control and helps prevent overheating or lens damage. - Helps dramatically enhance driving safety and aesthetics by clearing fogged, aged, or yellowed headlights. - The detailed process, including multiple sanding grits and buffing with the provided pad, achieves professional-level results. - Results can last several years if protected properly after restoration. - Works well on other plastic parts like grille covers when applied carefully. - Helpful online video tutorials complement the instruction booklet, aiding first-time users. ## Cons - The included masking tape may not be durable enough to protect surrounding paint and trim; reinforcing with duct tape or buying better tape is recommended. - The clear lacquer finish is tricky to apply evenly, and the kit lacks a sealing wax or a robust long-term protectant. - The process is time-consuming (about 40 minutes for both headlights) and requires patience and some skill to get optimal results. - Instructions lack an Italian version, which might be inconvenient for some users, though video guides help. - Additional manual sanding with 400-grit sandpaper before starting the kit improves results but requires extra effort. - Removing chrome headlight frames is recommended in some cases, which can add complexity and time. - Using an electric drill with variable speed control is advised; lower-powered drills work best, while high speeds may cause damage. ## Specifications | Attribute | Value | |-----------|-------| | model | 39008 | | mpn | 39008 | | brand | 3M | | manufacturer | 3M | ## Current Prices | Retailer | Price | Availability | |----------|-------|-------------| | [Newegg](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/9wbDf7u1PlHcwZkkvZDd?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $12.06 | Check | | [Walmart](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/8yTsUlbMyICQWHsEWfTN?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $14.19 | Check | | [Amazon](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/3eebde40-6ddb-4000-62dd-b540cc370ebc?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $14.88 | Check | | [Mercari](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/0YaHO6dctIzZBWQ3o4fV?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $15.00 | Check | | [JBTools.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/XROWikaKa2dDdAmgyBw4?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $17.32 | Check | | [After Hours Auto Parts ®](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/OGVJ3azDcPvCR6umCKVi?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $18.49 | Check | | [tooloutfitters.com](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/m3p8PsAUx88moZjuajbP?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $18.68 | Check | | [The Binding Source](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/UuDYVppVNq9OOWbwPQF9?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $18.80 | Check | | [Auto Parts and Stuff](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/4AMUQISW3Mw62UfQyyWe?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $18.99 | Check | | [Interwest Tools](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/oBLreTh8F1RsubqVBKxt?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.00 | Check | | [PCTechSupply](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/KNXV5ittSUldxDVDAJ91?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.05 | Check | | [Boatplicity](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/IrmKDL2KgZyw3paAso75?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.06 | Check | | [R & E Paint](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/BHu0Q75kXJHE8jJa63jp?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.64 | Check | | [retailers/opentip](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/wabSVGZ90inCyDYdZuZ7?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.72 | Check | | [Bonanza](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/EChc4hkX8AyoartJld02?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.80 | Check | | [Lamin-x Protective Films](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/X5OIqhPHu3xojCh1qf3e?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.95 | Check | | [Summit Racing -> eBay](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/26119w95wrgJMYJOMlgC?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $19.99 | Check | | [Everest Automotive Market](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/ixDGm0beopkVNs0Ms9f6?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $20.22 | Check | | [profishop.us](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/z7moZG1lUoR6UscinHlI?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $20.41 | Check | | [retailers/autotoolworld](https://shopsavvy.com/api/redirect/products/d35zMztPEcfwQVFO0vlh/offers/736f57e0-0df0-8978-d355-fcd5d569d3a1?source=shopsavvy&medium=product-page) | $20.43 | Check | [See every retailer and the full price history on ShopSavvy](https://shopsavvy.com/products/3m-headlight-restoration-system) --- *About this page: ShopSavvy compares prices across thousands of retailers, aggregates expert and user reviews, and tracks price history to help you make informed buying decisions.
