If you always exclude used items, only want in-stock results, skip marketplace sellers, or prefer free shipping, you can set those once in Settings and the shopping assistant will apply them to every search.

## How to Do It

1. Open the Desktop app and go to **Settings**.
2. Find the **Default Search Filters** section.
3. Toggle on the filters you want applied to every search:
   - **Exclude used items** — ignore refurbished, open-box, and used listings.
   - **In-stock only** — hide out-of-stock offers.
   - **Exclude marketplace sellers** — skip third-party sellers on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and similar.
   - **Prefer free shipping** — sort offers so free-shipping options surface first.
4. Save. From here on, every search the assistant runs respects these defaults.

## Tips

- You can override a default filter inside any single conversation by telling the assistant something like **"include used items this time"**.
- Combine with **Retailer Preferences** (Settings → Retailers) to fully shape which offers you ever see.
- If results feel sparse, try loosening one filter — **In-stock only** is the most common cause of short result lists during launches and sales.
