## Product: Samsung Galaxy Watch 8
**Brand:** Samsung

Yes, you can swim with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8. The watch has an IP68 rating and is water-resistant to 50 meters (5 ATM) per ISO standard 22810:2010.

## Safe Water Activities

- Pool swimming and lap workouts
- Ocean swimming (shallow water)
- Water aerobics
- Exercising in rain
- Normal hand washing

## Activities to Avoid

- **Scuba diving** — Pressure exceeds the watch's rating
- **Water skiing/jet skiing** — High-velocity water can breach seals
- **Pressing buttons underwater** — Temporarily compromises protection
- **Hot tubs** — Heat damages seals (see sauna FAQ)

## Using Water Lock

Enable Water Lock before entering water:

1. Swipe down to access quick settings
2. Tap the water drop icon
3. Screen locks to prevent water-triggered taps
4. Disabling Water Lock ejects water from the speaker

## After Swimming

1. Rinse with fresh water (especially after salt water or pools)
2. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth
3. Ensure complete dryness before charging

## Band Compatibility

**Water-safe**: Silicone and sport bands
**Not water-resistant**: Leather and hybrid bands — remove before swimming

## Long-Term Care

Water resistance degrades over time. Samsung recommends periodic checks at authorized service centers if you swim frequently.

## About Showering

While possible, Samsung advises removing your watch before showering. Soap, shampoo, and high-pressure water accelerate seal wear. Skipping daily shower exposure extends your watch's water-resistant lifespan.
